An Academic and Research Career Workshop for Women in Computational and Data Sciences

April 20-21, 2022 | Albuquerque, New Mexico

Rising Stars is an intensive workshop for women graduate students and postdocs who are interested in pursuing academic and research careers. Originally launched at MIT in 2012, Rising Stars events have been hosted in many different fields at institutions across the world. UT Austin’s Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences, Sandia National Laboratories, and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory are proud to partner to host the first Rising Stars workshop series in Computational and Data Sciences. For more information please read the FAQ.

COVID-19 NOTICE

If COVID-19 prevents us from holding the workshop as an in-person event on April 20-21, we will postpone it and reschedule as soon as possible. We do not plan to revert to a virtual format, as we feel that an in-person event will generate much more excitement and better networking opportunities.

Call for Nominations Now Closed

Our nomination process for 2022 is now closed. Please refer to the Rising Stars FAQs for more information. We thank you for your interest in the Rising Stars Workshop.

At Sandia, we build multidisciplinary teams to address some of the Nation’s most challenging science and engineering problems. One of the biggest keys to success of these teams is the diversity of the individuals—it’s not enough simply to nurture diverse technical areas. Diversity of individuals helps to remove cultural biases and ensures a broader range of perspectives is brought to bear on our laboratory’s important national security mission.
