The Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) district, which also serves several communities outside the city, is the largest public school district in the state. APS has 89 elementary schools, 27 middle schools, and 13 high schools. Albuquerque also offers several private schools that encompass Kâ12. Sandia/New Mexico provides local high school students with rewarding and challenging internship opportunities.

The University of New Mexico (UNM), located in Albuquerque, is the largest postsecondary institution in the state in terms of total enrollment across all of its branch campuses. UNM offers bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and professional degree programs in a wide variety of fields. Sandia collaborates with the faculty at UNM and provides selected graduate and undergraduate students with opportunities to participate in scientific and engineering projects.
Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) is also located in Albuquerque. CNM offers 47 associate’s degrees that span the arts and sciences, as well as career and technical fields.
