A national and international presence

Sandia operates laboratories, testing facilities, and offices in multiple sites around the United States and participates in research collaborations around the world.

Sandia’s executive management offices and larger laboratory complex are located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Our second principal laboratory is located in Livermore, California. Although most of our employees work at these two locations, Sandia employees also work at various other sites in the United States and participate in research collaborations around the world, giving Sandia both a national and international presence. Multiple locations make it easy to do business with us and enable us to deliver innovative and reliable technological solutions in the national interest.

In addition to our state-of-the-art experiment and test facilities, Sandia’s high-performance computing capabilities are vital tools for our mission responsibilities in stockpile surveillance, certification, and qualification. We operate remote-testing sites for the Department of Energy’s National Nuclear Security Administration and provide on-site scientific expertise at several DOE facilities. The diversity of our locations supports broader national security work and our ability to address the nation’s most challenging security issues — nonproliferation, counterterrorism, energy resources, and transportation.
