UNM Cancer Center leader talks innovation in 2024 speaker series opener


BETTER CARE THROUGH INNOVATION — Yolanda Sanchez, director and CEO of the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center, spoke to in-person and virtual audiences at Sandia Jan. 18 as part of the Labs’ National Security Speaker Series.In her presentation “Mission and Innovation,” Sanchez shared how New Mexico’s only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center focuses on reducing the burden of the disease and overcoming health disparities in the state and the nation.For more than a decade, the National Security Speaker Series has invited distinguished industry, government and academic leaders to share with the Sandia workforce their perspectives on topics that touch the Labs’ mission areas.
