The Hispanic Outreach for Leadership and Awareness committee at Sandia National Laboratories is partnering with Kirtland Air Force Base, NNSA Sandia Site Office and NNSA ABQ Complex to sponsor its Annual Youth Art Contest in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15th – October 15th). This youth art contest is open to all students in New Mexico.
Contest Rules:
One entry per student
Must be original artwork
Prizes will be awarded per category: K-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12
Must include one paragraph describing artwork and correlation to contest theme (“Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together”). Artwork will NOT be judged without a descriptive paragraph .
Must consent to possible reproduction, distribution, and public display of artwork, student name, student grade, school name, and release contest organizers from any damages or loss that may occur.
Students whose artwork is selected for a prize will receive their prizes at an awards ceremony (date to be determined). Parents/guardians will be asked to sign a photo release form at the ceremony.
Options To Submit (Deadline September 7th):
Online: Submit your art, paragraph, and registration form electronically via original file, scan or photo by clicking the “Register for the art contest” button below.
Drop off: Fill out the registration form online by clicking the “Register for the art contest” button below and then drop your art off between September 2 – 7 to one of the following locations:
Main Library – 501 Copper Avenue NW
Cherry Hills Library – 6901 Barstow NE
Taylor Ranch Library – 5700 Bogart NW
San Pedro Library – 5600 Trumbull Ave SE
South Valley Library – 3904 Isleta SW
Griegos Library – 1000 Griegos Rd NW
Rudolfo Anaya North Valley Library – 7704 2nd St NW
All artwork submitted at a library must be picked up between October 8 – 12. Artwork not picked up will be discarded.
