Amelia Henriksen
Dr. Amelia Henriksen is a data scientist at Sandia National Laboratories and is part of the Machine Intelligence and Visualization department. Amelia’s research interests primarily lie in developing unsupervised algorithms for challenging real-world datasets, as well as open and FAIR data release. During her tenure at Sandia, she has managed the FAIRification and release of many unique datasets, including extensive materials characterization databases and the first curated automatic identification system dataset with a large body of historically validated ground truth. Amelia is actively involved in efforts for diversity, equity, and inclusion inside and outside Sandia National Labs and is an active member of Sandia’s Women Action Network (SWAN) outreach team and the Abilities Champions of Sandia (ACS).
Miranda Mundt
Miranda Mundt is a Research Software Engineer (RSE) and member of technical staff with the Department of Software Engineering and Research, Sandia National Laboratories, with an interdisciplinary background in applied mathematics, economics, and software engineering. As a practitioner, researcher, and consultant, she works closely with scientific software teams across diverse domains including climate science and optimization modeling to advance software engineering in scientific computing. She is a certified Carpentries instructor and has led multiple tutorials on better software practices including documentation, reproducibility, and traceability. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Software Engineering from ASU.
She is also an active member of the US-RSE Association, for which she serves as a Steering Committee member for the 2023-2024 term. She is serving as the co-General Chair for US-RSE’24, happening October 15-17, 2024, in Albuquerque, NM.
