Biography
Nathaniel deVelder is a postdoctoral researcher in the Wind Energy Computational Sciences Department at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM. He holds a master’s of science and PhD from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, where he worked jointly in the Wind Energy Center and the Theoretical and Computational Fluid Dynamics Laboratory. Nate’s current research interests include numerical simulations of wind energy related flows, turbulence modeling, transitional flows, resolved rotor mesh development, in-situ visualization for large-scale simulations, and novel aerodynamic concepts for wind turbine rotors.
