Research and Development Mechanical Engineer
Biography
Kevin supports vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) aerostructural design and analysis for offshore systems in the Wind Energy Computational Sciences Department at Sandia National Laboratories. His research interests include multidisciplinary design optimization, code development for high performance computing, and experimental validation. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from Brigham Young University in Utah, specializing in experimental methods during his undergraduate work, and design optimization of aerodynamic systems for his graduate work. Before joining Sandia, Kevin worked in commercial aviation and participated in many facets of aircraft certification, software qualification, and structural substantiation.
