Women@Energy features Sandia’s Chris LaFleur

This month, the Department of Energy’s STEM Rising initiative features a Q&A with Sandia National Laboratories’ internationally recognized expert in fire risk, Chris LaFleur.

Chris is responsible for fire risk program activities at Sandia National Laboratories, where she leads a team of experts who evaluate fire risks associated with hydrogen, nuclear, and other emerging technologies. These evaluations, performed by Chris and her team, provide a risk-informed basis for the safe and widespread use of hydrogen and nuclear technologies at scale.

In 2017, Chris was one of 10 recipients recognized at the sixth annual Clean Energy Education & Empowerment Women in Clean Energy Symposium in partnership with the MIT Energy Initiative and Stanford University’s Precourt Institute for Energy.
