A research team that included Sandians received a Best Paper Award for their work “Photovoltaic System Model Calibration Using Monitored System Data,” presented at the 6th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion (WCPEC) held in Kyoto, Japan, in November 2014. This paper was presented at the WCPEC’s joint “Characterization and Modules Reliability” and “Systems, BOS components, and Grid Integration” session. Yuzuru Ueda (Tokyo Institute of Technology) and Keiichiro Hakuta (NTT Facilities, Inc., Japan) were also members of this research team.
WCPEC gathers researchers worldwide to discuss the most recent scientific and technological progress, industrial news, cost reductions, financial and policy issues concerning c-Si, thin-film (Si, CIGS, CdTe), III-V, and organic materials—and also in fundamentals and new materials, modules and system development, concentrators, and space applications.
