The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) builds on a century of excellence to create the premier lighting community dedicated to promoting the art and science of quality lighting to its members, allied professional organizations, and the public. This Regional Award is given in recognition of meritorious technical achievement that has furthered the profession, art, or knowledge of illumination engineering—accomplishments in engineering, design, applied illumination, optics, lighting, research, or education.
Jeff Tsao’s award was given at the IES regional meeting 2014 in Albuquerque and was in recognition of his career contributions to the science, technology, and economics of solid-state lighting.
