Biography

Michelle joined Sandia National Laboratories in July 2020 and is a senior member of the technical staff in the Wind Energy Design and Experimentation Department. Her research focuses on materials characterization supporting the DOE sponsored-Blade Reliability Project; specifically, lightning effects on wind blades and the NDI robotic crawler work. Michelle also supports the SWiFT facility as project manager of research and site integration.

Prior to joining Wind Energy, she supported the Geomechanics group at Sandia National Laboratories beginning in 2015. Michelle worked as a geomechanics engineer at TerraTek, a Schlumberger company, in Salt Lake City from 2013-2015. She has a bachelor’s degree in geology from University of Minnesota, Morris, and a master’s degree in geological engineering from University of Arizona.
