Dr. Rodney Kingston Wilson, PhD

Dr. Rodney K. Wilson retired from Sandia National Laboratories in 2020 after more than 39 years of service. At the time of his retirement, he was the Director of both the Center for Global Security and Cooperation (CGSC) and the CMC. He held these positions for nearly a decade. The CGSC develops systems engineering and technology solutions for U.S. government agencies responsible for non-proliferation and arms control, cooperative threat reduction, and international security. Most notably, Dr. Wilson was awarded the NNSA Administrator’s Distinguished Service Gold Award in 2020 in recognition of his leadership and service to advance NNSA programs. Lisa Gordon-Hagerty, former Administrator of NNSA, recognized Dr. Wilson’s exemplary contributions to programs that improved U.S. national security and created a more peaceful international community and thanked him for his service to DOE, NNSA, and the nation.
Dr. Wilson holds an MS in Theoretical Mechanics and a PhD in Applied Mechanics from the University of Illinois. He is a graduate of the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government Program for Senior Executives in National and International Security. Dr. Wilson is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
