Biography
Kara is a principal member of the technical staff in the Computational Mathematics Department. Her research focuses on numerical discretizations for partial differential equations applied to variety of of application areas including Earth systems. Research areas include anisotropic dynamics for sea ice models, property preserving methods for tracer transport and remap, and partitioned schemes for coupling models across interfaces.
