Biography
My research priority is to manage the data volume from scientific simulations to accelerate the scientific discovery process. To accomplish these goals, I work on issues related to managing the data created by simulations to the IO stack including the parallel file system and through online and offline workflow systems. I also work with reproducibility and am engaged in student programs at several conferences.
I won a 2013 R&D100 award as co-inventor of ADIOS, an alternative IO API designed from scratch to address petascale systems.
Education
I am a three time graduate of Georgia Tech. BS 1993, MS 2004, and PhD 2010. I spent 10 years in industry between undergrad and grad school working on industrial controls programming packages and hospital data management and workflow systems.
