Interns making real impact

Overview

The Surety, Design Engineering, and Weapons Quality Mission Center crosscuts Sandia and is embedded in every Nuclear Deterrence (ND) program and several beyond. This team brings every major engineering discipline to bear, alongside those with deep industry experience. From the most intricate circuit to the all-up-round, from the most fundamental measurement to the most complex qualification, this mission center guides the “how” of Sandia’s engineering to assure the highest technical confidence can be achieved.

This integrated group of nuclear safety, weapon response, and electrical analysis experts teams to develop an array of products that support the safety and reliability of the nation’s nuclear deterrent. With expertise in design tools, modeling and analysis techniques, and GD&T – the Surety, Design Engineering, and Weapons Quality Mission Center partners with clients to engineer high-quality product definitions to solve national security challenges.

Surety, Design Engineering, and Weapons Quality interns are part of a Sandia program, MissionTech, which offers students valuable cross-exposure to projects in ND Mission Technologies mission centers.
