This health, food, and agriculture focused earthquake tabletop exercise is hosted by the San Diego Law Enforcement Coordination Center and the California’s Governor’s Office of Emergency Services in partnership with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Health Security and Sandia National Laboratories. Participants will have the opportunity to address both strategic and tactical concerns pertaining to cross-discipline coordination, crop and animal production, disruption to critical infrastructure (i.e., water, electrical grid, communications, transportation), food security, public/community health, etc., in addition to elements of regional and national agricultural economics. The exercise will utilize GIS mapping/modeling capabilities and facilitated discussion to explore cascading, cross-sector impacts at both the strategic and operational level. The event aims to pilot exercise materials for future use by health, food, and agriculture planning and response partners as well as model cross-discipline networking to strengthen resilience to a catastrophic earthquake.
