Validation and verification of the MELCOR code is an ongoing process. Validation is the process of demonstrating that software is capable of providing acceptable results in fulfilling the requirements set forth in the Software Requirements Document (SRD) The MELCOR Assessment Plan. Developed for the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), the requirements review previous efforts and discuss additional assessment planning. The Volume III report in MELCOR documentation provides documented results of these assessments along with discussion of MELCOR models.
