Craig Taatjes (8353) received a Technical Excellence Award in recognition of his outstanding scientific contributions to our understanding of combustion chemistry, including the discovery of enols as combustion intermediates. Red Storm Design, Development and Deployment Team designed and partnered with Cray, Inc. to develop and deploy a highly successful new Massively Parallel Supercomputer. Earned Value Management System Team, Corporate Projects Department (10824): This team won in the technical excellence category for their development of a certified Earned Value Management System, the very first in the DOE complex, for application to Line Item construction projects with a Total Project Cost over $20 million.
